Lemongras Oil (Cymbopogon Flexuosus)

Lemongrass essential oil is fresh and sharp with lemony fizz. Energizing aroma. Used to keep away insects. It’s a tall aromatic grass.

In Ayurvedic medicine it is used to calm the nervous system.

In Chinese medicine they use it for stomach-ache, headaches and colds.

Scent: Fresh, grassy, lemony rich fragrance.

Extraction Method: Steam distillation from leaf.

Colour: Yellow to Light Orange.

Properties: zesty, fresh, invigorating.

Chakra: Brow.

Cautions: Photosensitive, do not use undiluted on skin and do not expose treated skin to the sun. Use n low dilution on the skin, can sting.

Blends well with: geranium, bergamot and other citrus oils.

Easy uses of lemon essential oil

Concentration and focus – sniff straight from the bottle or from a tissue with a drop of lemongrass essential oil on it. Great for study or meditate.

Chase away bad dreams – 2 drops lemongrass and lavender essential oils in the diffuser.

Massage oil – 1 drop lemongrass and 3 drops ginger and lavender essential oils in a tablespoon of almond oil.

headache: Dilute and apply to the temples.

Wake up: Sniff from the bottle, it will get you going. Sprinkle some lemongrass oil drops on the wall of your morning shower.

Baths: add 5-8 drops to bath
Massages: add 2-3 drops of essential oils to 15 ml (1 tablespoonful) of carrier oil
