Pink Grapefruit Oil (Citrus Paradisi)

Grapefruit is believed to be a cross of Pomelo and sweet orange. Quite a new fruit. Around 300 years old. Like all citruses it has special little sacs on the peel that contain the essential oil.

Scent: fresh, sweet citrus smell. Pink grapefruit is sweeter than white.

Extraction Method: cold pressed from the rindץ

Color: pale yellow – Yellow.

Properties: energizing, uplifting, cleansing, stimulating.

Chakra: solar plexus.

Caution: photosensitizing – makes the skin more sensitive to sun damage.

Blends well with: lemon, palmarosa, bergamot, neroli, rosemary, cypress, lavender, geranium and spice oils.

Easy uses of grapefruit oil

Hangover – Morning bath with grapefruit, fennel and rosemary essential oils.

Relaxation – Make a bath 2 drops grapefruit and 4 drops geranium essential oils.

Lighten up – 4 drops grapefruit and 2 drops frankincense essential oils.

After you ate too much and feel sick – 3 drops grapefruit and peppermint and 2 drops ginger essential oils in a tablespoon almond oil and massage the abdomen clockwise.

Baths: blend 5-8 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil and add to bath
Massages: add 2-3 drops of essential oils to 1 tablespoonful of carrier oil
Vaporisation: add 2-4 drops of essential oils to a burner, aroma stone or aroma stream
