In ancient times, myrrh was highly prized, also mentioned in the bible. Was and still widely used in perfumes, incense and ointments for healing wounds. It’s a small, tough desert tree with aromatic leaves, white flowers and sharp needles. The bark produces a yelloew resin that hardens into red brown tears, myrrh essential oil is steam distilled from those tears.
The name myrrh comes from the Arabic word mur which means bitter.
People use myrrh as medicine since more then 4000 years ago, it is mentioned in the bible and ancient greek soldiers used it for psychic protection and first aid.
Used in western medicine to treat mouth ulcers, gum disease and skin wounds.

Easy uses of myrrh essential oil
Anger buster – 2 drops myrrh and 4 drops geranium oil in a nice warm bath.
Stress relief – 2 drops myrrh and 4 drops clove oil in the diffuser.
Cough – Steam inhale 2 drops myrrh and 4 drops cedarwood oil.
Wound healer– 2 drops of chamomile and 4 drops of myrrh and frankincense essential oils in a tablespoon of base oil. Apply 4-5 times a day.
